became a recognised group towards the end of the 80’s. Friends who would meet up at various venues and anAd-hoc basis for green laning trips and off-road events, mainly organised by the All Wheel Drive Club. Our first regular meetings were as AWDC supporters. We realised there were enough of us from the West London Area to start a group meet in the area. We started meeting in Twickenham .
The group adopted the name
Twickenham Off Roaders soon shortened to TOR , marshalling at AWDC events, safaris and trails we became involved in other ventures. Marshalling at the Welsh, Scottish and Southern Hill Rallies. Invited to marshal the off road course at Bagshot Off Road Show’s. The London Off Road Show followed and then as officials at the National 4x4 Show at Weston Park, Trentham Gardens and the European Truck Trails at Borden.
Our invitation to join
War & Peace Show came in 1999. When the shows organisers realised a need to oversee the off road course. We have then extended our work at the War & Peace Show to be part of the team that runs the show!
Because of the unique friendship, teamwork and determination and partnership in getting the show on the road!
We are well known in the world of off road. We raise money for charities and haven even hit the big time on TV raising money for Children in Need!
Members own a variety of vehicles from land rovers to Suzuki’s from 101’s to Fodens. Both Military and Civilian Vehicles.
