The War & Peace Show,

Since 1999 Twickenham Off Roaders have officially been part of the unique team that helps co-ordinate the running of the War & Peace Show.

We organise the off road course which is in Americas Field. An interesting and varied course with lots of turns, twists, steep ruts and mound climbing all done under the watchful eye of the Twickenham Off Roaders Members.

Twickenham Off Roaders are pleased to be able to offer a photo opportunity to members who use the 4x4 course for a nominal fee.

The course enables the participant owner and vehicle to manoeuvre through the course. Making the event more interesting is the tank rides full of paying customers using part of the course, and the helicopter flying overhead, both side show participants of the War & Peace Show.

Later a Field Marshal was needed to supervise the whole of the Americas Field. This is now done by the TEAM " Twickenham Off Roaders".

Twickenham Off Roaders are pleased to have the opportunity to do the
Chambers Heavy Vehicle Trails”. This is where we ask owners of heavy weighted vehicles to participate in a trail of events over a two night period to use their skill, vehicle knowledge, driver and passenger teamwork to do certain tasks which cumulate in a points scheme to appoint a winner. The winner is then awarded a trophy at the Awards Ceremony which takes place before the end of the War & Peace Show. This done with all the other trophies awarded at that time.

Phil Chambers (1960-2004) who has now passed on left us with inspiration and interesting challenges which we thought we would never get into and an interest in all things big! These challenges  which looked good for a few hours on a Saturday morning but you know will continue till midnight on Sunday. His influence still lives on as things still go wrong. We know he is watching us, for Phil we have dedicated the "Chambers Heavy Vehicle Trails".
